Hi friends, I present my new work: it is a panda entirely hand painted on an 80 x 100 canvas with acrylic colors.
I love pandas, they are such tender, funny, soft-haired animals. In this painting I portrayed this wonderful specimen while munching on a bamboo: it is a playful, curious, a little mischievous pose. This work is made with acrylic colors on a 100 cm x 80 cm canvas. The hairs were painted one by one and the choice of the bright red background wants to give a pop connotation and to highlight the animal more.
This painting was exhibited in 2019 at the International Collective Exhibition of Contemporary Art at the Antonio Baldo Gallery in Milan, at the Solo Exhibition at Sardegna Grand Hotel Terme in Fordongianus, in 2018 at the "CAGED" bipersonal exhibition at the Foundation for Art Bartoli Felter in Cagliari.

All my paintings are entirely handpainted and are unique and original pieces with a certificate of authenticity.
I use colors and materials of the best brands, large and high quality canvases mounted on a 4 cm thick frame. The painting continues on all edges and is immediately ready to be exhibited in the environment you prefer.
The result is a very modern work of the highest quality, with attention to every detail.
My artworks, of hyperrealistic and with a photographic style, have got as main subjects animals, mostly exotic ones such as elephants, giraffes or leopards, or typical of the Sardinian territory. I manage to highlight the details, meticulously cared for, and to focus attention on the subject, which is the only character of the work: the background, in fact, is absent, it is mostly monochrome and it emphasizes the focus on the animal, abstracting and extracting it from a real space.
My style is defined as pop - hyperrealism because the subjects are painted following a detailed technique, but their position in an unreal space gives the artworks features that are more typical of pop art, so hyperrealism and a graphic style melt. I use different techniques according to the subject and the effects I want to obtein.
Some information about the panda
On 4 September 2016, the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) established that the panda is no longer an endangered species. The "Red List", the list of endangered animals, has changed its status from "in danger" to "vulnerable".
Good news, however, that should not be safe, because the risk of extinction of the panda is still high.
Every year the habitat of these animals gets smaller due to the
deforestation, the construction of roads, dams and buildings for which it becomes increasingly difficult to find bamboo shoots, food essential for the feeding of pandas.
Today there are 20 residual areas where the panda can live, for an extension of about 23,000 sq km, but in the next 80 years climate change could cancel more than a third of the areas where the bamboo grows.
The scarcity of food pushes them to move continuously, but in this way they are exposed to poaching, to the traps destined to other animals, remaining injured or even killed.
In recent years the WWF in collaboration with the Chinese government has managed to create a large number of reserves: now it is important to connect these areas with each other, so as to allow the pandas to move to feed and reproduce safely.
According to the last WWF census, there are exactly 1864 panda specimens left.
