"Lion" 2021 from the Gold Collection series
Mixed technique and gold leaf on canvas 100 x 100 cm
This work will be published in the special edition of the Divine Comedy created for the 700th anniversary of the death of the poet Dante Alighieri, which will be fully illustrated by the works of contemporary artists.
The creator and curator of this prestigious project is the art historian and critic Prof. Giorgio Grasso who personally selected the artists.
These are the verses to which the work is inspired:
"ma non sì che paura non mi desse
la vista che m'apparve d'un leone.
Questi parea che contra me venisse
con la test’alta e con rabbiosa fame,
sì che parea che l’aere ne tremesse".
